2018 Volvo XC60 Receives Redesign And New Engines

The XC60 is available 3.2L inline 6-cylinder engine, a 3.0L turbocharged inline 6-cylinder, a 2.0L. It comes in base, Premier Plus, Premier, R-Design trims and Platinum.

Power for all engines is routed through a Geartronic 6-speed auto transmission, which features a manual mode. All-wheel-drive Volvo XC60s get a Haldex transaxle with Instant Traction, which constantly monitors the speed of the wheels, driver's throttle input, engine speed, engine torque & brakes to automatically direct power away from slipping wheels to those with traction.

The 3.2L is rated at 240 hp and 236 pound-ft of torque. The 3.0L turbocharged I6 engine two versions. The base 3.0L makes 300hp, 325 lb-feet of torque, while the top-of-the-line R-Design model gets a more powerful version, makes 325 horses and 354 pound-feet of torque.

The Premier trim adds a panoramic 2-panel sunroof, side trim and silver roof rails, leather seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and a power-adjustable front passenger seat.

Premier Plus models add a power tailgate, front & Rear Park Assist and HomeLink universal garage door opener. The Platinum adds a premium sound system, a rearview camera and a navigation system.

Standard equipment throughout the lineup front and rear fog lamps, satellite radio, power front seats, heated mirrors, dual-zone climate control and keyless entry. Safety enhancements include 4-wheel antilock brakes, tire pressure monitoring, a host of airbags, integrated turn signal mirrors and day-time running lights. Standard safety equipment includes Traction Control and Dynamic Stability, Ready Volvo's City Safety system and Alert Braking systems, which utilizes an infrared sensor automatically apply the brakes at slow speeds when an imminent collision is detected.

An Inscription package adds personalized touches to the already well-appointed Volvo XC60. Features include embroidered headrests, semi-aniline leather upholstery in a choice of four colors, a leather console, unique exterior paint and special 20-inch wheels.

At the top of the lineup, the sporty R-Design features the panoramic roof, 20-inch wheels, scuff plates, HID bi-xenon headlamps, R-Design logo, aluminum front trim, a unique design center instrument panel, special R-Design floor mats, aluminum interior trim and special shifter.

Options on the XC60 offers a Climate package which cover rear seats and heated front and heated washer nozzles. A Technology package have adaptive cruise control, collision warning with lane departure warnings and pedestrian detection. BLIS blind-spot monitoring system and HID bi-xenon headlamps are also optional.

Keyless Drive, a 2-way vehicle communications system is also available- it's remote engine starter, a proximity entry system and can report vehicle status back to the driver without seeing distance from the car.

The XC60 be equipped advanced safety equipment including Roll Stability Control, which uses a gyroscope to establish the vehicle's leaning angle and automatically activates pre-tensioners on the whole seatbelts and inflates a protective curtain time a rollover is detected. Hill descent control it's also standard, using the XC60's brake system to automatically control wheel speed while down steep grades.
